It happens to all of us.
On the water we often experience downhaul is not right. Even after extensive trimming on the beach, the wind has changed, the sail and ropes have stretched or the difference in downhaul tension for going up- or downwind is not right. Consequence is lack of power or being overpowered.
The new E-Xtension will solve this problem for you and for all RDM masts. The adaptor rings make this happen for all SDM masts and for every session.
Every tuning guide and sail manual confirms the sensibility for downhaul.
For windsurfers there was no simple way to correct the downhaul on the fly besides going down in the water or going back to the beach or the shore and losing precious and fun time on the water. Even if you decide to go back to the beach and change downhaul tension, you risk a second or a third change in conditions so your session on the water is not as you hoped for.
This is now solved with the new effortless E-Xtension
The sweet spot for most windsurf sails is in the range of 2 to 3 cm maximum or minimum downhaul to ensure the best twist and loose leech of the sail. The tuning instructions in these manuals are all the same. When overpowered in high wind then more downhaul is recommended. When underpowered in low wind conditions, less downhaul is the best solution. Even small corrections in downhaul during a run are not possible! However; every sailing boat can deal with this phenomena and trim their sail and twist during sailing. Even cyclists can change gear on the fly depending on going up- or downhill.
With the E-Xtension you can now find the optimum downhaul tension and twist. Quick planing and high top speed are now possible on the water at any time.
