The E-Xension consists of a high end standard carbon extension provided with a 12V LIPO battery powered Actuator at the inside.
The outside
The TRIPLE D E-Xtension is basically a high end UXT Carbon Extension provided with 3 pulley wheels with extreme low friction.

The E-Xtension can always be used either with and/or without the remote controlled battery powered geared engine. The UXT base is provided with a 3 pulley system with special exchangeable Teflon/brass bearings that will guarantee the lowest friction (< 0,1) possible for a long duration. Normal friction coefficient between stainless steel axes and stainless pulleys can go up to > 0,5. The low friction will provide the easiest trim possible and extended battery autonomy during one session. The bearings are exchangeable!
Outside
The inside
The Actuator and battery pack will slide precisely inside the machined inside tubing of the Carbon- Xtension. The topside of the Carbon E-Xtension is provided as a double secured watertight chamber to protect electronics and battery pack against (sea) water up to IP 67 (*). We advise not to disassemble the tubes on the beach or without careful rinsing ! This could harm the waterproof properties. The actuator is provided with a standard DYNEEMA rope.
Inside
Before use
The system needs to be activated by a special LIPO switch on top. It is necessary to keep the (red) ON/OFF button carefully gently pressed down at least 3 seconds until the 2 leds ( PWR and LIPO) will light up. In this way the LIPO is protected against undervoltage! The top bracket is provided with 2 rubber rings to seal the top part of the waterproof chamber. Be sure both rings at the top bracket are present and well greased with acid-free petroleum based jelly. The same jelly should be used for the lower rubber ring. Both the top bracket rings and the lower rubber ring provide the waterproof chamber.
Remote controls and electronics
All E-Xtension are provided with 2 remote controls for attachment on each side of the boom. Preferably the remotes should be attached between the harness lines in such a way that the red leds are mounted in the sailing direction. The remote holders are each provided with 2 channel controls. The remote system is working on a 433 Mhz frequency. This frequency is an International dedicated frequency for purposes like this. Each remote is however provided with an individual single rolling code. If remotes are lost and new ones are ordered they need to be programmed by the owner. This is possible by pushing the reprogramming button for 3 seconds on the battery pack.
Electronics
The system has the following properties:
- The electronics are protected against general overheating by a thermo switch (< 70 dgr)
- It takes about 60 seconds to cool down after overheating due to overpowering.
- Electronic prints and chips are protected against overheating (< 170 dgr).
- The system is provided with electronic limit switches at both ends.
- The electronics have been provided with an “ïndividual” receiver code 433 Mhz.
- New remote switches need to paired/programmed
- The system has an internal clock that is set at 12 seconds after activation with the remote
Downhaul is divided in 4 steps for complete downhaul and/or complete release.
