Use of LIPO batteries
The E-Xtension is provided with 12V 3s 950 Mah Lithium Polymer batteries. This gives you a autonomy of about 3 sessions with 20 complete downhauls on the water before recharging. These excellent batteries are CE and RoHS certified right from the start from the producer Shida Batteries. To assure our customers about the extra safety of the use of LIPO batteries in our system if the IP67 should be corrupted in some way; we have asked DEKRA laboratory Netherlands to test our 3s LIPO’s in completely emerged situation for 1 hour. As testified in the CE certificate they were emerged for 1 hour.
Conclusion was; neither completely submerged in freshwater nor in saltwater gave a dangerous situation. The only thing that happened is that the battery lost its power and the recharging contacts started to corrode and dissolve and after 1 hour became unusable.
